WALTER H. SELL, 87, of 309 Twin Oaks Dr., Altoona, died Saturday, August 2, 1997 at his residence. He was born July 19, 1910 to Henry O. and Ida (Klopp) Sell in the town of Washington. On March 22, 1936 he married Viola L. Paul at St. Peter's Lutheran Church near Foster. They farmed 39 years at Brackett before moving to Eau Claire.\r\nSurvivors include his wife, Viola; a daughter Gertrude (Robert Jr.) Basacker of Eau Claire; two sons, Norman (Erlinda) of Eau Claire and Gregory of Hawkins; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; a sister-in-law, Esther Vander Heiden of Elmhurst,IL; several nieces and nephews.\r\nWalter was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister, Lilly.\r\nFuneral Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church with Pastor Robert R. Garbisch officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery near Foster. Friends may call 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Tuesday at the church.
