Wayne Lester Porter age 80 Town of Clear Creek, Village of Allen, passed away peacefully at the Dove Healthcare Center of Osseo, Friday December 7, 2018. Wayne was born July 13, 1938 in Eau Claire, WI. To Lester and Edna Porter (Brown). Wayne was a lifelong resident in the Township of Clear Creek at the age of 2 when his parents purchased the farm from his mother's parents in 1940. Wayne attended grade school in the Village of Allen and graduated from Osseo High school, the class of 56. Wayne was an active FFA member in High School holding the chapter offices of Secretary and Treasurer. He was proud of his Star Farmer Award that he received at the State FFA convention in Green Lake, WI. Wayne met his bride, Gloria of 55 years at Fournier's Dance Hall on 1st Avenue, Eau Claire. After a 1 Year courtship they were married on April 20, 1963 at Epiphany Lutheran Church, Eau Claire. To them they raised two children while continuing to Farm. Wayne also worked construction at Hehl & Grohn of Altoona for many years till his retirement. Wayne served on various farming cooperative boards. He also served his lord actively participating in various church functions. Wayne is survived by his wife Gloria (Mueller), Son Mark (Sandy Ferguson), Children, Collin, Brennan and Ryan Porter. Daughter Linda (Mark) Bellesbach, Children, Dillon, Wade and McKenzee. His Sisters Louise Gundersen, Marilyn (Watford) Seguin and Loraine Sloat. Funeral services will be held at 1 pm, on Tuesday, December 11, 2018, at Zion Lutheran Church, E3720 County Rd HH, Eleva, with Rev. Timothy Moe officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm, on Monday, December 10, 2018, at the WEST CHAPEL of Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 1405 N. Clairemont Ave. Eau Claire, and again one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church. Burial will be at St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery in Strum.
