Obituary

WENDELL A. PETERSON, age 82, who moved from 2426 Peterson Avenue to 501 Napa Valley Drive, Little Rock, Arkansas, passed away at his home in Little Rock on Sunday, November 30, 1997. He was born October 16, 1915 to Louis P. and Elise (Jerdee) Peterson in Star Prairie, Wisconsin. Wendell married Pauline Whetsel on April 6, 1941 in Washington D.C. He served as an aerial photographer in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was self employed as a photographer for forty-five years until his retirement in 1982. Wendell and Pauline lived in the Eau Claire area for over fifty years. He was an active member of VFW Post #305 and Elks B P O Lodge No 402.\r\nSurvivors include his wife, Pauline; a daughter, Karen (Ken) Anderson of Little Rock; three granddaughters, Kimberly (Ed) Van Patten of Sacramento,CA, Kari (Marc) Kline of Plymouth,MN, and Kelli (Sherman) Snyder of Memphis,TN; seven great grandchildren; two sisters, Jean Kings and Jane Elliott, both of Anchorage, AK.\r\nWendell was preceded in death by his son, Lowell who was killed in Viet Nam in 1968.\r\nFuneral Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church, Eau Claire with Dr. Ronald D. Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery where VFW Post #305 will conduct military graveside rites. Friends may call 10 a.m. until time of services Thursday at the church. Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home is serving the family.\r\nMemorials may be directed to the Kidney Foundation or the Viet Nam Veterans.
