Wesley N. Paulson, 88, of Altoona, formally of Sand Creek, passed away on Wednesday, December 2, 2015, at Dove Healthcare West, in Eau Claire. Wes was born on August 16, 1927, in Colfax, to Rudolph and E. Caspara (Isaacson) Paulson. At an early age, his family moved to a farm in Sand Creek where he spent most of his life. He attended and graduated from Chetek High School with the Class of 1946. He furthered his education at Augsburg College in Minneapolis until he entered military service. After his honorable discharge he moved back to the home farm and worked with his father and brother for Dairyland Egg Company. While on the egg route, Wes met Deloris Scheidecker and they were married on June 5, 1954, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Bloomer. Wes and Deloris bought and operated Dairyland Egg Company until his retirement in 1992. Wes enjoyed golfing and even though he was quiet about it, he had 2 hole-in-ones over the years. He also made many beautiful stained glass lamps and other pieces, which are still in the homes of his family and friends. Wes is survived by his wife of 61 years, Deloris; 3 children, Rachel (Allen) Keniston of Eau Claire, John (Gwen) Paulson of Sand Creek and Norman Paulson of Altoona; 8 grandchildren, Ryan Howard, Luke (Brittany) Howard, Rebekah Grady, Megan Paulson, Nicole (Tim) Howe, Brittany (Jeremy) Munger, Greg (April) Paulson and Joshua Paulson; 8 great-grandchildren, Dominic, Freya, Keniston, Owen, Madison, Grace, Kailee and Weston; brother-in-law, Orwin Sparby; and also by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 brother, Gordon (Eunice) Paulson; and 1 sister, Gertrude Sparby. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Spirit Lutheran Church, Community Table or Luther Park. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, December 9, 2015, at Spirit Lutheran Church, 1310 Main St, in Eau Claire, with Pastor Amy Odgren officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church. Burial will be held at a later date in Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Sand Creek, WI.
