William "Bill" Roy Becker, 68, of Eau Claire, died peacefully at his home on Thursday, August 7, 2014, under the care of his wife, Roberta; daughter, Lori; and St. Joseph's Hospice. Bill was born on July 8, 1946, to Raymond and Frances (Werner) Becker in Eau Claire. He graduated from Memorial High School in 1964, and then served in the Air Force from 1964 to 1970. He married Roberta Lancette/Phillips along with her six children on December 14, 1979. Bill retired from Union 76/Fuel Service in 2001. Bill's witty one liners will be missed by us all. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed animals, hunting, and fishing. He also enjoyed baking bread and chocolate chip cookies. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Bill is survived by his wife, Roberta "Bert"; children, Wendy LaMar (friend Joe Lentsch), Ken Phillips, Kevin Phillips, Lori Phillips, Greg Phillips, and Keri (Joe) Nandory; siblings, Beverly Klein, Jim (Betty) Becker, Virginia Becker, Carol (Ken) Newby, and Rod Becker; brothers-in-law, Bernie (Linda) Lancette and Barry (Patty) Lancette; sisters-in-law, Betty Karpe and Becky (Steve) Zillmer; grandchildren, Amanda (Mike) Krueger, Eric (Brooke) LaTour, Ryan (Lizzie) LaTour, Thessa Phillips, Heather Phillips, and Kyleigh Nandory; and several grand dogs and cats; great-grandchildren, Adam, Alex, and Lucas Krueger. Bill is further survived by many other family members, good friends and neighbors whom he treasured. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Joyce; father/mother-in-law, Robert and Bernice Lancette; brothers-in-law, Chuck Klein, Willie Lancette, and Dean Karpe; and son-in-law, Bruce LaMar. A Private Service is being held.
