Obituary

William J. Du Cette, Jr., 95, of formerly of Eau Claire, died Wednesday, October 29, 2003 at Oakwood Villa in Altoona. He was born in Eau Claire on July 11, 1908, the son of William and Ida (Button) Du Cette. \r\nBill served in the US Army during World War II from September 1942 until his honorable discharge on October 1945. He was employed at Uniroyal Tire Company in inspection until his retirement.\r\nSurvivors include his sister, Vernona Du Cette, of Altoona; sister-in-law, Dorothy Du Cette of Eau Claire; many nieces and nephews.\r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers, Jim, Art, Leo, Gene, Bernie, and Joe; four sisters, Marie Kernan, Lucille Kundert, Rosemary Du Cette and an infant sister at birth.\r\nMass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 1, 2003 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with Father William A. Dhein officiating. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery. Family and Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and an hour prior to services Saturday at the church. A Public Prayer Service will be held at 5:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
