William St.Clair "Clair" Jones, 94, of 3829 Old Wells Road, died, Monday, July 30, 2001, at Mt. Washington Residence. He was born on October 22, 1906, in Albion Township, Eleva, to Wesley and Edith (Hurlburt) Jones.\r\nWilliam married Elsie Schwartz in Eau Claire on June 19, 1937.\r\nHe was employed 35 years at Pope and Talbot Paper Company until retiring in 1971.\r\nSurvivors include a son-in-law, Dennis Blodgett of Eau Claire; three grandchildren, James (Ruth) Blodgett and Jayne Blodgett both of Eau Claire, and MaryAnn (William) Holton of Oakdale, MN; three great-grandchildren; and his nieces and nephews.\r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Elsie in 1995; his daughter, Joan Blodgett; and eleven brothers and sisters.\r\nFuneral services will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, August 1, 2001, at St. John's Lutheran Church with Pastor Howard officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery. Family and friends may call an hour prior to services Wednesday at the church.
