William "Bill" F. Muszynski, 80, of Elk Mound, passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at Mayo Clinic Health System-Eau Claire. Bill was born on November 5, 1938, in Eau Claire, to Joseph and Emma (Greening) Muszynski. Bill enlisted in the Marines at the age of 17 and was very proud of his military service. After his discharge from the Marines, he returned to Elk Mound. Bill was united in marriage to Elaine Carol Gullickson on April 27, 1962. Together they had 4 children: Tammy Smigla of Eau Claire, Jackie (Dave Connell) of Chippewa Falls, Sherry (Paul) Walters of Eau Claire, and Melissa (Clint Best) of Colfax. Bill worked as an auto body specialist for Schultz Auto Body and Madison St. Auto Body. He then owned his own auto body shop. Bill later worked for the Dept of Military Affairs as a facilities repair worker until his retirement at the age of 72. Bill enjoyed racing stock cars, riding snowmobiles and motorcycles, hunting, fishing, and watching sports. He was a fan of the Packers, Brewers, Bucks, NASCAR, and the Mounders. He also enjoyed watching his grandkids play sports. Bill was very family-oriented and enjoyed spending as much time as possible with both his immediate and extended family. Bill looked forward to his annual trip with his family to the Wisconsin Dells, trips to the casino, and annual trip to Duluth and seeing the "tall ships." He enjoyed working on cars with his brothers and other relatives. His vocabulary was greatly expanded during this time. Bill will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Bill is survived by his wife and children. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Will Muszynski, Greg, Brittany, Joelle, and Rachel Walters; his brother, Ronald (Marlys) of Elk Mound; and sister-in-law, Ruaine Gullickson of Colfax; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Jessie (Dick) Haas, Imogene Muszynski, Irene (George) Cardinal, Donna (Bob) Morgan, and Rose (Roger) Rude; brothers, Charles (Evelyn), John (Irene), Frank (Inez), and James; brother-in-law, Arvid Gullickson; and sister-in-law, Marie (Bill) Stewart. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 23, 2019, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 417 W Menomonie St, Elk Mound, with Father Joseph Nakwah. Visitation will be one hour prior to the Mass on Saturday at the church. Military Honors will be conducted by American Legion Post 53 at the church. Interment will be in the spring at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Town of Spring Brook
