William M. Ogg, 96, formerly of Elk Mound died Saturday, March 8, 1997 at Dove Health Care Center,Eau Claire. He was born December 1, 1900 in Shiloche, Ohio to Mahlon and Elizabeth (Albright) Ogg. Following his mother's death he moved with his father to Augusta and then to International Falls,MN where they homesteaded. William worked in the merchant marine on iron ore boats on the Great Lakes for many years. He worked at Gilette Rubber Co, and later farmed near Elk Mound. He married Ellen Hedgemark and they resided in the Eau Claire area. Following his retirement William resided at Park Towers Apartments.\r\nSurvivors include three nieces, Jean Waldusky and Margaret Zech both of Eau Claire and Dorthea Sloggy of Ashland; and great nieces and nephews.\r\nHe was preceded in death by his wife, Ellen in 1968; two sisters, Ethel Wood and Kate Darling; and a niece, Elizabeth Carlisle.\r\nFuneral Services will be a 10:00 A.M. Thursday at Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home with Pastor Kurt M. Jacobson officiating. Burial will be in Barum Cemetery, Town of Elk Mound, Dunn County. Friends may call 9:00 A.M. until time of services Thursday at the funeral home.
