William "Bill" E. Roll, 83, of Eau Claire died Sunday, January 28, 2007, at his home. He was born in Clontarf, Minnesota on June 6, 1923, the son of Charles and Anna (Scheid) Roll.\r\nIn 1940 Bill graduated from High School in Benson, MN.\r\nHe enlisted in the U.S. Navy on November 30, 1943 and then served in the U.S. Air Force until his honorable discharge on August 3, 1945. \r\nBill married Marie E. Tosterud in Minneapolis, MN on December 22, 1954.\r\nHe worked over 30 years at the Sherwin Williams Store in Eau Claire, retiring in 1986.\r\nHe was a member of Christ Church Cathedral, the Eau Claire Male Chorus for over 30 years, and the Indianhead Bowling League. \r\nDuring their retirement Bill enjoyed fishing and traveling with Marie in their RV throughout the south. \r\nBill is survived by his wife, Marie and their four children: Charles (Corinne) Roll, David Roll, Mary (Roger) Reinert, all of Eau Claire, and John Roll of Mpls, MN; and step grandson, Daniel (Sarah) Reinert of River Falls.\r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Bernice Kent.\r\nMemorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 1, 2007, at Christ Church Cathedral with the Very Rev. Bruce N. Gardner and the Very Rev. H. Scott Kirby officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Eau Claire. Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Thursday at the church.\r\nFamily requests memorials be directed to the "Elevator Fund" at Christ Church Cathedral, 510 S.
