Winnifred "Winnie" F. Harings, 89, of Eau Claire died Wednesday, October 8, 2008, at Sacred Heart Hospital. She was born in Eagle Point, Wisconsin on July 14, 1919, daughter of Henry and Agatha (Rada) Korger.\r\nWinnifred married Mathias R. Harings, her husband of 61 years on September 27, 1945, at Notre Dame Catholic Church in Chippewa Falls.\r\nShe started work early in life working hard at her father's egg hatchery in Chippewa Falls earning the nickname of "Speed". \r\nWinnie's outlook in life was to always help others. She enjoyed doing volunteer work with her husband Matt, serving Meals on Wheels. She loved bowling, fishing, reading, walking, playing cards, watching sports and spending time with her family and friends. \r\nShe was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Eau Claire.\r\nWinnifred is survived by her four daughters, Susie Harings (Cliff Jacobson) of River Falls, Kathy Harings of Fall Creek, Mary Jo (Mark) St. Aubin of Eau Claire, and Kris Harings (John Tipton) of Madison; two sons, Terry Harings of Rathdrum, ID and Pat (Melissa) Harings of Anchorage, AK; her sister, Gertrude Korger of Chippewa Falls; brother, Henry (Betty) Korger of Stevens Point; four grandchildren, Lisa (Geoff Vernon) Harings of Gaston, OR, Annette (Matt) Morasch of Los Angeles, CA, Josh (Trina) Harings of Beaverton, OR, and Emily St. Aubin of Eau Claire; three great grandchildren, Myle and Matea Vernon of Gaston, OR, and Clara Morasch of Los Angeles, CA; and nieces and nephews. \r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents; husband Matt in 2006; a son, Kenny; brothers and sister-in-laws, Wilfred and Margaret Korger, Joseph Korger, and Norbert and Virginia Korger; and a sister and brother-in-law, Ida Mae and Maynard Kressin.\r\nMass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 18, 2008, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 416 N. Dewey St., Eau Claire, with Father William A. Dhein officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Chippewa Falls. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Lenmark Gomsrud Linn Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Saturday at the church. There will be a 6:30 p.m. Public Prayer Service Friday at the funeral home.\r\n
