OUR MUSIC

By Gene J. Cartwright, for my wife.

Come be my music

Come be my song

Let our hearts beat the meter for the chords and let

our hands “hold” the staff for each new phrase

Our eyes will meet in the valley of the low tones.

Our lips will “touch” when the notes are high.

We will make our own crescendo and write the finale in color.

Black and white would never be enough.

And…

When the music is written,

We will write the words.

Soft words,

Tender words,

Words full of meaning, like

Love

Together

Forever…
