Be the first to offer your condolences on Carol's Tribute Wall
Our loving Mother, Carol Jean Anderson, passed away on Friday, March 2, 2018 at Mayo Clinic’s Eau Claire Hospital. Carol was born to Lee and Helen Haskins on March 14, 1941, in Ogema, WI. She graduated from Prentice High School in 1959. After moving to Eau Claire, she attended Vocational School and worked at Huebsch Laundry, Cramer Cleaners, and 9th Ward Bakery. She married Charles Anderson December 7, 1963, at the Lutheran Church in Prentice, WI. After having three daughters, she worked at Cassidy’s Grocery Store, Big D Grocery, Fanny Hill Supper Club, and retired from MN Wire and Cable Co. Carol dedicated her time to her three daughters. As she raised her daughters, Carol was very active in the Sherman School PTA, Eau Claire 4-H clubs and enjoyed gardening and raising game birds. She was a member of the West Central WI Pigeon and Poultry Club. Later in life, she dedicated many hours at the L.E. Phillips Senior Center. Carol has been a member of Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd since 1959. Survived by three daughters, Sue Reese and Cindy (Steve) Swingen of Eau Claire, Jan (Craig) Stark of Weyerhaeuser; one son, Gary (Celia) Anderson from Hayward, WI; 8 grandchildren, Sarah Reese, Elizabeth (Christopher) Roby, Joshua Anderson, Stephanie Swingen, Mike Anderson, Kris (Aaron) Deehr, Laurie (Rob) Sabelko, and Michelle Olson; 9 great grandchildren, Natalie (Sarah) Wolford, Jamaree Roby, Dane and Sydney Anderson, Emily (Kris) Simpson, Abigale, Katelyn, Thomas and Andrew Sabelko, and Angus Olson; 3 brothers, Norm (Sue), Gene (Joyce), Roy (Linda) Haskins; and 2 sisters, Elaine (Larry) Pfaffendorf and Lorraine Sarkkinen. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles in 2002; parents, Lee and Helen Haskins; brothers, Robert, Howard, Roger and Donald; sister, Doris Hall; and her son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Alice Anderson. Our family would like to acknowledge the wonderful and caring CCU staff at Eau Claire Hospital. Their kindness and compassion meant a great deal to Carol and the family. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 17, 2018, at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 1120 Cedar St, Eau Claire, with Pastor Josh Toufar officiating. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. and continue until the time of the service at the church. Carol loved potlucks – if you wish, bring your favorite dish to serve at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to Carol’s family.
