David Boyd Buttenhoff, 60, of Eau Claire, WI died on Sunday, March 6, 2022 from respiratory complications at Mayo Clinic Health System, Eau Claire.
Born on June 13,1961 to Robert D. and Norma Buttenhoff in Eau Claire, WI. He grew up in Eau Claire and was part of the class of 1979 from Memorial High School. David cherished his many Britney Spaniel dogs throughout his life. (Coke, Gypsy, Angie, Zip, and Zip the 18th) He took his dogs with him on many trips up north. David’s happy place was in the woods and being outdoors by the grill or the fire with family and friends. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. If you knew David, you knew he was quick-witted and there was always humor involved in many conversations. He was always generous and helped many people throughout his life and never let his physical limitations get the best of him or complain about them.
David is survived by his mother Norma Buttenhoff; daughter; Carla (Josh) Haley granddaughters; Tayla and Shyanne Haley, brother; James Buttenhoff, sisters; Barbara (Denny) Rasmussen, Jayne (Mark) Wanka, Bonita Schnack, and Mary Oman. Former wife of 21 years Linda Buttenhoff. As well as many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father Robert D. and sister Gretchen Rose Buttenhoff, and his niece Alicia "Ali" R. (Powers) Hurtgen.
A special thank you to the many nurses and doctors who have taken care of David over the years. He never complained and the care you gave him during these final years didn’t go unnoticed.
