David Lamb Obituary

David "Dave" Robert Lamb, 78, of Eau Claire passed away peacefully on October 3, 2023 with his daughters by his side.

Dave was born February 21, 1945 in Winter Haven, FL to Robert and Dorothy "Betty" (Hensen) Lamb. He was part of the first graduating class of North High School in 1963. Dave went on to enlist in the United States Air Force following graduation and served until 1967 in Libya. Dave married Monica Vinton on August 21, 1968 and they were blessed with 3 children.

Dave was a lifelong member of the VFW Post 305 as well as a member of the Sanctuary Lodge 347 of Free & Accepted Masons (32nd Degree Scottish Rite), a member of the Mehara Shrine (Zor Temple), and of Commandery 008 Knights Templar. He was a member of the Free Riders motorcycle club in the 70's where he became close friends with Dave Zien. He started Southern Sons Motorcycle club when he and his family lived in Alabama, sharing his love of motorcycles, specifically his Harley.

Always an avid car enthusiast, Dave owned several automotive repairs shops throughout the Chippewa Valley over his lifetime. His greatest venture was opening Midtown Transmission in 1995 with his son, Mike, running his business until his retirement in 2015. Dave enjoyed building hot rods and working on cars of any kind. Dave was known for his quick wit, funny sense of humor and his generous nature. He was always cooking for events at the VFW and giving his time to volunteer.

Anyone who knew Dave knew he loved sweets, especially ice cream! He had some fun adventures in his younger years, drag racing on old country roads and causing mischief with his best friend, Everett. He was unbelievably proud of his "bonus" family, the Kapbardhi's, whom he sponsored from Albania in 2000, always showing support for every endeavor they had. Dave also shared an incredibly special bond with his eldest Granddaughter, Shawna, making him the greatest Papa ever in her eyes.

Dave is survived by the mother of his children, Monica Glinski, Children: Michael Vinton of Stratford, WI, Bobbi Farr (Robert Neuenfeldt) of Stratford, WI, and Kerri (Shane) Kraemer of Barataria, LA, Grandchildren: Shawna Farr, Tyler Vinton, Terin Neuenfeldt, and April Vinton. He is further survived by his sisters: Deb (Bob) Ziegler of Mankato, MN and Dawn Midthun of Eau Claire, WI, many nieces, nephews, family and an abundance of close friends.

Dave is predeceased by his parents: an infant brother, Dennis: brother, Darryl Lamb (within 21 hours prior): sister, Dianne Lamb and brother-in-law, Kevin Midthun.

The family would like to give a special thank you to the nurses at Marshfield Health Services, specifically Linda & DeeDee, the aides of Aspen Creek, and ProMedica Hospice Care, specifically Miranda, for their kindness and compassionate care.
