Starts at 1:00 pm (Central time)
It is with heavy hearts and cherished memories that we announce the passing of Gregory Alan Martin, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, who left this world on January 6, 2026, at the age of 77. Born on August 23, 1948, in Ladysmith, Wisconsin, Greg was the first son of Yvonne Wouters Martin and Francis (Hank) Martin, both of whom predeceased him.
Greg's life was a tapestry woven with laughter, adventure, and an indomitable spirit that touched everyone he encountered. Truly one of a kind, Greg was the life of the party, a man whose presence was unforgettable. His charisma and warmth left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of meeting him. He had an innate ability to connect with people, and his friendships were many and deep, forming a community that was as loyal as it was vast.
A passionate enthusiast of motorcycles, Greg found freedom on the open road, where he felt most alive. His love for dogs was profound, and he had an uncanny ability to form bonds that were as meaningful as any human friendship. Music, too, played a vital role in Greg's life, providing a soundtrack for his adventures and a source of comfort and joy.
Greg is survived by his devoted wife, Julie, who stood by his side through life's many journeys, sharing in its joys and challenges with unwavering love and companionship. Greg is also survived by his son, Chris Martin, brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Linda Martin, brother, Steve Martin, mother-in-law, Eileen Halverson, brother-in-law and his wife, Paul and Terri Halverson, many cousins, life-long friend, Steve Dachel. Numerous other friends, and, of course, his dogs, Simon, Karma, Daisy and Greta.
Though we mourn his passing, we also celebrate a life well-lived, filled with love, laughter, and adventure. Greg's memory will forever be remembered by his family and the many friends who were fortunate enough to know him.
A gathering to honor and celebrate Greg's life will be held on June 27, 2026, at 1:00 PM at the VFW located at 2900 W Folsom St, Eau Claire, WI. Friends and family are invited to join together in remembrance of a truly remarkable man who will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
In Greg's memory, let us ride the open roads of life with the same courage and joy that he did and value our loved ones, just as he valued us.
