James Shepherd Hagmann, infant son of Jonathan and Taylor (Schippers) Hagmann, was already in the arms of Jesus when he was born August 24, 2014, at Mayo Clinic Health System-Eau Claire. Despite the sorrow of missing him so very much, he will be reunited with all who adore him when the rest of us reach heaven. In the meantime, we rest on God’s promise that, for those who have chosen to receive Christ’s gift of salvation, “The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.” Psalm 34:18 Sweet baby James is deeply loved and will be missed by his parents, Jon and Taylor; his maternal grandparents, Kevin and Beth Schippers; his paternal grandparents, Theresa (Hawkins Hagmann) Arriaga and her husband, Manuel (San Diego); and his aunts, uncles and cousin. His paternal grandfather, James M. Hagmann, met him when he arrived at heaven’s door. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 29, 2014, at Word of Life Bible Church, 3732 Spooner Ave., Altoona, with visitation one hour prior to the service. There will be a brief graveside service at Lakeview Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest beside his grandfather. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to “Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep,” at http://www.nowilaymedowntosleep.org/. Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home is assisting the family.
