Janice Ruth Kilde

March 12, 1954 ~ February 2, 2023 (age 68) 68 Years Old

Obituary

On February 2, 2023, Janice Ruth Kilde went to her Heavenly home after unexpected complications from a short illness. She was born to Marcella and the Rev. Paul Kilde on March 12, 1954, in Rantoul, IL where her father was stationed as a Chaplain in the Air Force. Janice and her family grew up living in many different states, the Philippines, and Spain.

As a young adult, Janice became a Registered Nurse. She worked in labor and delivery, in the pediatric unit, and in many nursing homes. In her 30s she discovered alternative health for her own medical issues and spent the rest of her life combining her nursing and alternative healthcare knowledge to help others.

In 1982, she married Allen D. Ida. The couple had one child, Bethany Ida. The family enjoyed traveling, collecting Terry Redlin art, and were particularly good at winning snow sculpture competitions. Janice and Allen were together for 17 years before going their separate ways.

Janice spent the early 2000s as a fun high school mom, always ready to take her daughter's friends on day trips or to a Hanson concert. She later became the college mom who brought pies and special gifts on her overnight stays in the dorms.

Janice and Bethany were true kindred spirits. They lived together for many years, had many travels, and went to many Paul McCartney concerts (to make up for Janice never getting to see the Beatles). Over the years they had 4 dogs, 2 cats, 1 goldfish, and 11 rabbits.

Janice was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Elizabeth (Beth) Kilde, her beloved Aunt Helen and Uncle Ralph, along with two children who never made it to Earth.

She leaves behind her daughter, Bethany Ida, brother Paul Jr. (Jeanne) Kilde, sister Barbara (Guy) Carlier, her nieces and nephew, and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

A Celebration of Life gathering will be held for Janice at the Altoona Clubhouse on August 26, 2023, from 2 to 6 pm. Guests will be provided with parking vouchers. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Audubon Society to help the songbirds Janice so dearly loved.
