Jeanette A Nibaur (Skogstad) passed away into the loving arms of her Lord on Friday, 18 March 2022. She was born 30 January 1937 at her paternal grandparents’ farm in rural Eleva, Wisconsin. Jeanette met the love of her life, Clayton C. Nibaur, and they were married 27 April 1967 at the Eleva Lutheran Church. They spent 49 years together in Eau Claire until his death in 2017.
Jeanette graduated Valedictorian in the Class of 1955 from Eleva - Strum High School and from Luther Hospital School of Nursing in 1958. She was a nurse at Luther surgery before working with Dr. Charles M. Ihle, Dr. James Leavitt, and Dr. William F. DeCesare.
Her hobbies were hand work, especially using yarn for afghans, prayer shawls, and baptismal blankets for Saving Grace Lutheran. An avid sports fan, she especially enjoyed the Brewers, Packers, and Badgers. She and Clayton enjoyed traveling in their motorhome around the country. Jeanette was preceded in death by grandparents Gus and Minnie Skogstad, Berita and Sever Steen; parents Melvin G. Skogstad and Martha Steen Skogstad; younger sister Judith Ann Skogstad; all aunts and uncles; and several cousins.
She is survived by sister-in-law Jane C. Peterson and her husband David S. Peterson and nephew Brett Peterson; and many cousins.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, 26 March 2022, at 11:00 am, at Saving Grace Lutheran Church, 2124 Eastridge Center in Eau Claire with Pastor David Irgens officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Eau Claire.
