Jeffrey Noel Smith

Jeffrey Noel Smith, 58, of Eleva, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota. Jeff was born May 28, 1965, in Eau Claire to Noel and Diane (Potts) Smith. Jeff graduated from Eau Claire North High School in 1983 and immediately started his career, spanning 40 years, at his family’s business Erv Smith Services; first as an HVAC Service/Installation Technician and then evolving to Commercial Design and Sales.

Jeff was a loving father, deeply devoted to his family and would do anything with, and for, them. He was the ultimate proud “Girl” Dad.  Jeff was generous with his time, always the first to willingly lend a hand to anyone or any cause. He loved spending time with his Westgate friends shooting trap, pistols, hanging out and helping at Westgate in any way that was needed. Jeff loved his long weekends fishing and working in Canada with his family and friends. Jeff touched so many people’s lives, family, friends, co-workers and his Erv Smith customers. No one will ever forget Jeff’s wit, teasing and sense of humor.

Jeff is deeply missed by his wife of 24 years, Michelle (Moe) Smith; daughters, Ella, Lily, and Megan (Aaron) Smith; grandson, Brady Wilson; father, Noel Smith; siblings, Theresa Brommer and Sam Farley; mother-in-law, Sharon Moe; brothers-in-law, Craig (Jerri) Moe and Chris Moe and nephews; Tyler and Connor Moe.

Jeff was proceeded in death by his grandparents; Ervin and Louise Smith and Frank and Ardith Potts; mother, Diane Smith; father-in-law, Dennis Moe and brother-in-law, Bud Brommer.

A special Thank You to Jeff’s care providers, specifically Dr. Saran, PA Shaun, the team at Eau Claire Mayo Hospital and to his continued care with the compassionate team at St Mary’s Hospital in Rochester.

A Gathering in Remembrance of Jeff will be held Saturday, November 11, 2023, 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Westgate Sportsman’s Club, 4909 Sportsman Drive, Eau Claire WI  54703 – In honor of Jeff, please dress casually, enjoy some great food, stay a while longer, and reminisce with all whose lives he touched.
