JOANN M. THIESSE, 62, 121 W. Polk Ave., died Monday, August 14, 1995 at Sacred Heart Hospital.\r\nJoann was born November 23, 1932 to Martin and Julia (Thompson) Thorson in Mondovi. She graduated from Mondovi High School in 1950 and obtained her B.S. Degree from U.W. Superior in 1970. She began her career as an elementary teacher in Cameron, and also taught in Mondovi, Black River Falls and retired from the Superior Public School System in 1993.\r\nJoann was a Past Worthy Matron of Black River Falls Chapter No. 106 Order of The Eastern Star.\r\nSurvivors include: 2 sons: Mark (Carol), Cheyenne, Wyoming, and Todd, Casper, Wyoming; 3 sisters; Margaret Vogler, Carol Oatman, and Lois Thompson, all of Eau Claire; 1 brother; Wallace Thorson of Mondovi; many nieces and nephews.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents; 3 sisters, Cleo Davis, Arvilla "Toots" Stanton, and Donna Holm; 2 brothers, James and Duane Thorson.\r\nFuneral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at First Lutheran Church with Pastor Robert E. Esse officiating. Burial will be at 1:30 P.M. in Riverside Lutheran Cemetery in Mondovi.\r\nFriends may call from 5 P.M. - 8 P.M. Friday at Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church
