John Keith Christenson

John Keith Christenson, age 82 died Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at home after a brief illness. John was born on June 13, 1940 to Andrew and Margaret (Weese) Christenson in Eau Claire, WI.

John graduated in 1958 with the first graduating class from Memorial High School. He served in the Navy from 1958-1962.
John worked at the local paper mill, then known as Pope and Talbot for almost 40 years as a pipefitter.

In 1963, he fell in love with his wife Nancy on their first date. They were married in October 1964 and they were married for 58 years.

John loved spending time with his children and grandchildren, and he was an amazing father and grandfather. He enjoyed going fishing, golfing, bowling and Friday night fish fries with family and friends. He was a hard worker and was always known to lend a hand to anyone. He had a very infectious laugh and smile. He had an amazing sense of humor and he enjoyed every day.

John is survived by his wife, Nancy (Anderson) Christenson; his two children, Michelle (Greg) Parr, Eau Claire, Brian Christenson and special friend, Vickie Zwiefelhofer, Chippewa Falls; three grandchildren, Katelyn Parr, Eau Claire, Emily Christenson, San Francisco, CA and Cole Christenson and special friend Lexi Heskett, Eau Claire. He is also survived by his sister, Gloria Klopp and his sister-in-laws, Barbara Christenson, Joyce Hanson and Carol Anderson and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews as well as many special friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Earl and Richard Christenson; brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Catherine Christenson; his sister and brother in-law Phyllis and Eugene Modl and his sister and brother in-law, Betty and Wynn Seeley, his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Marlys and Bill Sowaske, his brother-in-laws, Robert Hanson and Everett Klopp

A Memorial Service will be held at 11am on Saturday, June 3, 2023, at Spirit Lutheran Church, 1310 Main Street, Eau Claire, WI. Visitation will be from 9:30am up till the time of the service at the church. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery in Eau Claire.
