Lois Hodgins Obituary

Lois Hodgins, 61, of Eau Claire, passed away on Wednesday, April 25, 2018, at HSHS Sacred Heart Hospital, Eau Claire, with family and friends by her side. She was born in 1956, in Cudahy, WI, to Michael and Dolores (Hecker) Krajnak. She remained there through high school, graduating in 1974. She attended the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and graduated with a degree in Speech/Theatre/Education. Theatre was her passion and she gave many memorable performances during her time there. After graduation, she took up a job as Group Sales Director for the Fanny Hill Dinner Theatre. She and her husband, Don, ran the theatre for thirty-five years. They actually started dating, fell in love, and were married right at Fanny Hill in 1984. Over the years, she and Don appeared in many of the productions. In 1989, their daughter, Chelsea, was born. When Fanny Hill closed in 2014, Lois moved on to become Resource Development Coordinator for the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Greater Chippewa Valley. It was a great fit for her talents and a position that she treasured. As Lois often said of the staff, "they are family." Lois was also a board member for the Chippewa Valley Theatre Guild and was actively involved backstage and onstage. Lois is survived by her husband, Don; daughter, Chelsea; two sisters, Carol and Diane; many cousins, nieces, and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Bill. Throughout the years, Lois showed love, kindness, and support to everyone she knew. She cherished her family and friends. A Life Celebration will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, May 5, 2018, at the Boys & Girls Club-Mary Markquart Center, 1005 Oxford Ave, Eau Claire. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. and continue until the time of the service. Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn is serving the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Greater Chippewa Valley Lois Hodgins Memorial Arts Fund, 1005 Oxford Avenue, Eau Claire, WI 54703. This fund will be used solely to support programs of drama, forensics, music and the arts.
