Margaret Giguere Obituary

Margaret “Marge” Giguere, age 87, of Eau Claire, had a vision in 1999 of a beautiful Heavenly place and she shared that no one should ever be afraid to die if Heaven was that beautiful. God chose to take Marge to that beautiful place Monday, July 27, 2015, where she is reunited with the love of her life, Les. She was born May 19, 1928, the daughter of Robert and Alma (Bramer) Lange in Fairchild, WI. Marge was a graduate of Augusta High School. On August 7, 1954, she married Les Giguere and a few years later they had a son, Daniel, the joy of her heart. She worked for Woolworth’s for 35 years, most of them as the bookkeeper prior to her retirement in 1990. Marge’s faith was very important to her and she lived her faith every day. She refused to see anything but good in everyone, no matter the circumstance. She was an active member at St. James the Greater Catholic Church involved in many activities there. She was also a member of United Commercial Travelers and Eau Claire Moose Lodge #1408. Marge made strong bonds with people no matter where she went. Whenever Marge wasn’t chatting up a storm she was outdoors. She loved to watch birds, cardinals being her favorite and taking her beloved dog, Houston “Housie” for walks. She was a devoted and loving wife, a supportive and caring mother, and a proud and nurturing grandmother. Her grandchildren brought her the most joy. Marge was always on the go, but as her health declined she enjoyed reading. Marge is survived by her son, Dan (Janice); two grandchildren, Robert and Amanda, all of Eau Claire. She is also survived by her sisters, Esther Newton, Bernice (Fred) Kawell and Irene (Richard) Grimm, all of Eau Claire, Geraldine (Kenny) Ekern of Cameron, Betty Lighthizer of Slinger and Goldene Schiefelbein of Osseo; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Leslie in 1999; brother, William Lange; sisters, Maxine Reetz and Evelyn Brummond and Rosella, in infancy. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 31, 2015, at St. James the Greater Catholic Church, 2502 11th Street in Eau Claire, with Father Tom Krieg officiating. Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 30, 2015, at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 814 First Ave. in Eau Claire, and one hour prior to the Mass at the church. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery. To express condolences online, please visit obituaries at www.lenmarkfh.com
