Marian Kopp Obituary

Marian Darlene Kopp, age 89, passed away on March 26, 2019, at Heritage Court Memory Care in Eau Claire. She was born on December 28, 1929, in Eau Claire, WI, to Joseph and Linda (Hofmann) Olson. Marian graduated from Eau Claire High School in 1947. On January 23, 1948, she married her lifelong love, Charles, at First Baptist Church in Eau Claire, sharing 62 years until his death in 2010. For Marian, home was the farm she shared with Charles near Elk Mound for nearly 67 years. There, she dedicated her life to raising and loving her ever-growing family. She was a longtime member of Amy Chapel Church. The last four years Marian resided at Heritage Assisted Living and later Heritage Court Memory Care in Eau Claire. Marian enjoyed many activities, from playing piano, a fervent match of Scrabble, a light-hearted round of Uno, outings with her friends “the fearsome foursome” (Grace Brenden, Sandra Solem and Mary Thomas), camping in the summer and wintering in Arizona, to reading books and studying God’s Word. She was most happy at family gatherings, preparing incredible food and delighting in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. To have been loved by her was an immeasurable blessing. She used her strong faith to get through life’s challenges, her hands to create beautiful music, her smile to lift others’ spirits, her arms to hold us tight, and her gentle heart to treasure what is most important—each other. Survivors include daughter, Carol (Alan) Brenden of Elk Mound; three sons, David (Kathy) Kopp, Roger (Cindy) Kopp and Dan (Tammy) Kopp, all of Elk Mound; ten grandchildren, Brenda (Scott) Johnson, Jeff Brenden, Cheryl (Mike) Peterson, Steven (Tracy) Kopp, Jodi (Bill) Brenden Amir, Kelly (Kurt) Roder, David (Amanda) Brenden, Sara (Dustin) Salsbury, Stacy (Brandon) Powell and Becca (Kirk Secraw) Kopp; twenty-one great-grandchildren, Emma, Diesel, Taylor, Makenna, Emily, Samantha, Olivia, Joshua, Owen, Sullivan, Anna, Allie, Adam, Ella, Will, Grace, Brynn, Hallee, Kloey, Kyler and Kannon; brother, Jim Olson of West Allis; sister, Dorothy Wise of Brookfield; sisters-in-law, Dorothy ‘Babe’ Velie of Eau Claire and Julienne Kopp of Elk Mound; and many loving nieces and nephews. Marian also was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Linda Olson; brother, Joseph (Jackie) Olson; brothers-in-law, Fred Kopp, Leonard Kopp, Earl Myers, Norm Velie and Charlie Wise; and sisters-in-law, Wanda Olson and Alice Myers. The family would like to thank Pastor Dale and Suzie Bussinger, the congregation of Amy Chapel, the staff at Heritage Senior Living, St. Croix Hospice and the many friends who have offered prayers and kindness to our family. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 1, 2019, at Amy Chapel, E9882 370th Ave, Elk Mound, WI with Pastor Dale Bussinger officiating. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Amy Chapel on Sunday, March 31, 2019, and again one hour prior to services on Monday. Burial will be in Rock Falls Cemetery in the Town of Rock Creek, WI.
