Marvin Kirschner Obituary

Marvin Kirschner, 84, of Avella, PA passed away on November 2nd, 2022, in Eau Claire, WI.

Marvin was born to John and Alta Kirschner on January 16th, 1938. He graduated Avella High School in 1955. Marvin joined the U.S. Navy and served in San Francisco, CA, and Guam, M.I. After receiving an honorable discharge in 1958, he attended Florence Utt Technical School in Pittsburgh, PA for data processing. He then went to Washington D.C. and worked for the Navy Department as a civil service employee. After 4 years, Marvin transferred to the Air Force Computer Center in the Pentagon, serving in the Computer Operations division. After 28 years at the Pentagon and over 36 years in Federal Service, Marvin retired as a Division Chief on his 55th birthday.

Marvin enjoyed bowling in leagues until age 80, and his team won several championships. In his later years, he was an avid reader, liked going out to dinner, and enjoyed an afternoon cocktail on his deck overlooking the golf course. His family described him as a steadfast, simple, and extremely selfless family man that above all loved and provided for his family.

Marvin was preceded in death by his father and mother, first wife Sally, son Tregon, brother Kenneth, sister Evelyn, and brothers-in-law Buddy Myers and Tom Uryga. Marvin is survived by his devoted wife Frances, daughter Cynthia "Tia" and son-in-law John Howarth, daughter Carly and son-in-law Chad Gerbig, and daughter-in-law Pamela (wife to Tregon).
