Mary Loretta (Benson) Theisen

Mary Loretta Theisen (Benson), age 76, passed away surrounded by her family on Saturday October 14, 2023 at home. Mary was born August 17, 1947, the daughter of Vern and Loretta (Rooney) Benson in Eau Claire, WI.

Mary met the love of her life Jim Theisen while attending Immaculate Conception School in 8th grade. They were united in marriage September 16, 1967 and recently celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary. Mary was a member of St. Patrick's church in Eau Claire.

Mary is survived by her loving husband Jim and her five children: Jeff (Tina) Theisen of Eau Claire, Lisa Theisen of Greenwood, Jasen Theisen (Scott Ellis) of Palm Springs, Michelle Theisen of St. Paul, Kristi (Tom) Corless of Eden Prairie. She is additionally survived by 10 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren (and one on the way). She is further survived by her in-laws Joe (Fay) Theisen, Rose (David) Giraldi Donna (Chuck) Froseth, Jerome (Marlene) Theisen along with 27 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her in laws Ray and Dorothy Theisen and her siblings Tom (Mary Lou) Benson, Lori (John Baltes), and Charles Benson.

The Theisen family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Sacred Heart Hospital along with the staff and caregivers at Cornerstone Caregivers (especially Dawn and Joy), and Promedica Heartland Hospice Care for their help and support during Mary's journey.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday October 21, 2023 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 322 Fulton Street, in Eau Claire. Family and friends are welcome from 9:00 am until the time of the service Saturday at the church. A private family burial will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Eau Claire at a later date.
