Naureen E. Selz died Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at home, surrounded by family, under the care of St. Joseph’s Hospice. The daughter of George and Mary (Misura) Lennie, Naureen was born September 25, 1928 in Eau Claire. She graduated from St. Patrick’s High School. On October 2, 1948, she married Louis E. Selz at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Together they raised four children. Naureen was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a constant presence in her children and grandchildren’s lives, always supporting and encouraging them. She enjoyed being involved in their activities and cheering them on. She has left a legacy of wonderful memories for those she leaves behind. Naureen enjoyed traveling and two of her favorite places were Hawaii and Ireland. She was an avid reader and a faithful Packer and Badger fan. Naureen was a long time member of Immaculate Conception Parish and a member of the Catholic Women’s Club. She did volunteer work at the Syverson Home, Bolton House and delivered meals on wheels. Naureen was preceded in death by her husband, Louis; son, Peter; her parents; brothers George and Bernie; granddaughter, Stephanie; and other relatives. She is survived by her children, Susan of Cottage Grove MN, Michael (Julie) of Mint Hill, NC, and Stephen (Mary) of Chippewa Falls. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren: Maureen House, Andrew (Janet) Selz, Sean (Bridget) Selz, Christopher Selz, Matthew (Mollie) Selz, Teresa (Matthew) Downey, Kathryn Selz; and 12 great-grandchildren: Julia, Evan, Carlie, Drew, August, Stori, Matthew, Cecilia, William, Gregory, Lorrin and Bella. Naureen is further survived by one sister, Marjorie Gharrity; sister-in-law, Jeanne Lennie; and brother-in-law, Leroy Selz. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 1712 Highland Avenue, in Eau Claire, with Father Francis Thadathil officiating. Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. prior to the Mass at the church. Inurnment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery in Eau Claire.
