Peter K. "Pete" Stehle, lifelong resident of Eau Claire, died Monday, January 11, 2016 of a heart attack. Pete was born February 11, 1950 to Walter and Marylou (Olson) Stehle. He graduated from Memorial High School in 1968 and UW-EC in 1973 with a B.S. degree in Geography and Political Science. He played football for both schools. Pete worked most of his adult life at Uniroyal in inspection. In later years he worked as a custodian/maintenance man at the Phillips Senior Center and at Feed My People. He loved the Brewers, Badgers and Packers. Pete was an outdoorsman and in his younger years enjoyed fishing, hunting and trapping. Pete is survived by his twin brother, Tom (Margarita) of Santa Fe, New Mexico; his sister, Joan (Larry) Werner of Chippewa Falls, his nephew (Godson), Joseph (Katy) Werner of Verona, WI; his nephew, Andrew (JoAna) Werner of Minneapolis; his step-nephew, Mike (Teri) Werner of Stevens Point; his grand nieces, Myla and Haven Werner; his grand nephew, Rhys Stehle Werner; his aunts, Judy and Reta Olson of Eau Claire, and cousins, Jack Rada and Tom Olson of Eau Claire and Laurie Lauer of Port Washington. He was preceded in death by his parents; several aunts and uncles, and his most beloved canine companions, Sparky I, II, and III, and his Golden Retrievers, A&B, Bobby, Mac and Frankie. A memorial service will be held at noon on Tuesday, January 19th at the West Chapel of Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and Cremation Services (1405 N. Clairemont Avenue) with Pastor Mike Wollman of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church officiating. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
