Rosella "Rose" Schulner, passed away on November 2, 2023 at Prairie Point Care Center in Altoona.
Rose was born August 31, 1931 in rural Nelson, Wisconsin to Frank & Mary (Zierl) Berger. She attended School at North Branch and Sacred Heart School, Lima. Graduating high school at Durand, WI in 1949. She attended Eau Claire Vocational School and was employed at the Eau Claire Clinic and later as a medical transcriber at Sacred Heart Hospital.
She married Willard Schulner on August 21, 1951, after his death in 1987, she married Eugene (Gene) Ableidinger on August 29, 1998.
Rose and Willie Schulner started Wisconsin Truss, Inc. in Cornell in 1972. Besides being active in the business they enjoyed a cottage at Island Lake, New Auburn, WI.
Rose was a faithful member of St. Olaf's Catholic Church, the PCCW and a past president of the Eau Claire Catholic Woman's Club. Was active in the Retired Enlisted National Auxiliary. She loved traveling, entertaining especially the family, cooking, playing cards, golf, gardening, her flowers, the Packers and Brewers.
Rose is survived by sons, Daniel (Gail) Schulner, Eau Claire, Thomas (Cindy) Schulner, Tacoma, WA and Brian (Karen) Schulner, Fall Creek, WI; step-children, Jay (Donna) Ableidinger, Littleton, Colorado and Jill Johnston, Cedar Rapids, IA; grandchildren, Joshua (Ashley) Schulner, Fall Creek, WI, Andrew (Janell) Schulner, Fall Creek, WI, Gina (Mike) Toutant, Eau Claire, WI, Kristi (Kurt) Trunkel, Eau Claire, WI, Alaina Hewitt (Richard), Seattle, WA and Karly Bromiley (Stanley) Seattle, WA; great-grandchildren, Alexis, Maezee and Indy Schulner, Isaiah and Noah Schulner, Katie, Christian and Jason Toutant, Maya, Jaxson and Adalynn Trunkel, Manny and Coco Bromiley; sisters, Hazel Berger, Eau Claire, Jeanne Skroch, Cornell and Pat Bignell, Arkansaw, WI; sisters-in-law; Lily Schulner and Sharon Schulner
Rose was proceeded in death by parents, Frank and Mary Berger; husband, Willie Schulner; husband, Gene Ableidinger; brother, Don Berger; brothers-in-law, Frank Schulner, Kenneth Knudtson, Lynn Schulner, Dennis Schulner, Gary Schulner, Don Bignell and Giles Skroch; sisters-in-law, Yvonne Knudtson, Mary Schulner, Trudy Schulner and Darlene Belden.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Olaf Catholic Church.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11am November 11, 2023, at St. Olaf Catholic Church, 3220 Monroe St, Eau Claire, with Rev. Lawrence Berger officiating. Visitation is from 9am up until the time of Mass at the church. Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral & Cremation Services, Eau Claire is assisting the family.
