Shirley Ruth Salter

Shirley R. Salter, age 92, of Fall Creek and formerly of Eau Claire, WI, died Thursday, July 14, 2016 at The Fall Creek Care Center in Fall Creek. Shirley was born in the Town of Stanton, Dunn County, on May 9, 1924, the daughter of Burton and Elsie (Morrell) Christison. She graduated from Menomonie High School. Shirley married Norman N. Wulff on June 25, 1947 at the United Brethren Evangelical Church, Menomonie, WI. . Shirley was a long time member of Lake Street United Methodist Church in Eau Claire. She sang in the church choir for decades and loved music in general. Lawrence Welk was a big favorite of hers along with any and all musicals and shows that included quality singers. Shirley had a “quick smile” and a witty sense of humor. She loved watching the clouds and always said her favorite place to go was, “home.” She worked several years as a teller for American National Bank (Now U.S. Bank) in Eau Claire. Shirley is survived by her two daughters, Diane Bilderback of Eau Claire and Janell (John) Miersch of Fergus Falls, MN; son, Wayne (Susan Bruning) Wulff of Oregon, WI; seven grandchildren, Jill Miersch, Nick (Lindsay Buss) Bilderback, Jeff (Alisa Lein) Miersch, Beth Bilderback, Brian (Katie Stein) Wulff, Annie (Jeff) Beckman and Tony Wulff; three great grandchildren, Lily Wulff, Jonny Wulff and Piper Bilderback; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Norman Wulff; second husband, Bill Salter; two sisters, Evelyn Olson and Joyce Marine; and one brother, Lowell Christison. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Lake St. United Methodist Church with Pastor Cherie Ferrot officiating. Following the service, burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery in the Town of Washington, WI. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Monday, July 18, 2016 at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 814 First Ave, Eau Claire and also one hour prior to services at the church.
