Kathleen J. Burress

Kathleen J. Burress, age 67, of Eau Claire, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 26, 2017, at Dove West Health Care surrounded by her family. Kathleen was born in Stevens Point, WI, on July 28, 1949, a daughter of Oswald and Elizabeth (Prondzinski) Dehlinger. Kathleen graduated from Maria High School with the Class of 1967. She married Bruce E. Burress on July 25, 1987, in Duluth, MN. Kathleen had worked as a speech language pathologist for the Stevens Point Area Public Schools and Duluth Public Schools, retiring in 2004 and moving to Eau Claire. Kathleen was a member of American Speech & Hearing Association; Parish Council of Catholic Women, and St. James the Greater Catholic Church. She was a devout follower of her Lord Jesus Christ. She enjoyed golf, mahjong tile, book club, and spending time with her family. Kathleen is survived by her husband of 30 years, Bruce; daughter, Betsy (Dan) Frick of Ham Lake, MN; two step-sons, David Burress of Minnetonka, MN, and Chris Burress of Duluth, MN; 7 grandchildren; two brothers, Richard Dehlinger of St. Paul, MN, and Don Dehlinger of Stevens Point, WI. She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, Todd Stelmacher; and ex-husband, Peter Stelmacher. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Noon on Wednesday, May 31, 2017, at St. James the Greater Catholic Church, 2502 11th St., Eau Claire, with Father Tom Krieg officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service at the church. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Northern Wisconsin Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Beaver Brook Township.
