Gladys E. Young, was a mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She worked for the City of Eau Claire in the Department of Public Works for over 35 years. While working, as a single mother, she also attended the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire with a degree in Business. She was an avid runner, running the Buckshot Run into her late 60's. She loved the performance arts and worked with the Eau Claire Symphony and Children's Theater for many years during her working life and into retirement.

Gladys E. Young passed peacefully on 2/12/2024 at the age of 90. She is survived by her brother, David Zich; sister, Rose Lange; daughter, Vicky Young Bavelas; two granddaughters, Maria and Spiridoula Bavelas (son-in-law Tait Donelson); two great grandsons, Howie and Zander; many nephews and nieces and great nephews and nieces. She is preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Emma Zich; brothers, George and Robert Zich and their spouses, Betty and Marjorie; and son-in-law, Dimitri Bavelas.

A funeral service for Gladys will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral and Cremation Services, 814 First Avenue, with Reverend Jeff Carlson officiating.
