Jaqueline Marie Solberg, beloved wife, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, mother-in-law, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, Feb. 23, 2024 at The Classic in Altoona surrounded by family in the week before. She is now reunited with her husband of 73 years, LaMoine Solberg.
Jackie was born in Racine, WI on April 28, 1928 to Jessie Ranous and Benjamin Luedke. She moved to Eau Claire with her mother as a small child. She graduated from Eau Claire High School. Jackie married LaMoine after he returned from service in WWII in 1948. They raised five children. They enjoyed many happy times at their cottage on Axehandle Lake.
Jackie was a long-time member of First Congregational Church. She spent countless hours volunteering her time and work on cooking meals at church and other events. She volunteered at Sacred Heart Hospital in the gift shop and cooking meals for senior luncheons. She was uniform chairman for the Drum and Bugle Corps. She was artistically talented in many ways, including cooking, sewing, decorating gardening, canning, etc. Many holidays and family events were hosted by her. Jackie passed on her skills of parenting and life in general to those who followed her. She was loved deeply by her grandchildren and great grandchildren who she taught, played with, babysat for, sewed for etc. They will all truly miss her. She had a heart of gold and family was of utmost importance to her.
Jackie was preceded in death by her devoted husband, LaMoine, her parents and grandson, Alex. She is survived by her five children, Jim (Jennifer), Bob (Becky), Jeanne (John), Bill (Cheryl) and Steve; ten grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 15, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at First Congregational Church, 310 Broadway St., Eau Claire with Rev. Dr. Mark Pirazzini officiating. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service and a lunch will follow the service at the church. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Jackie's life.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Salvation Army or First Congregational Church, Eau Claire.
