Marvin Holliday Obituary

Marvin D. Holliday, age 88 of Eau Claire passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at Dove Health Care West - Eau Claire.

Marvin was born on May 29, 1935, in Dodge Center, MN. He was the son of Vernon and Marion (Miller) Holliday. He grew up and assisted on the farm and graduated from West Concord High School. He married Shirley Kramer on July 20, 1958.

He apprenticed in the printing trade and worked in Owatonna and Fairbault, MN and a year in Hannibal, Missouri. He was in the Army Reserve and spent six-month active training at Fort Leonardwood and Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland. They then moved to Eau Claire where he was employed at Ashbaugh Printing until retirement.

The family enjoyed many years of camping and snowmobiling. Marv enjoyed hunt, fishing and sightseeing on the ATV. He made yearly visits to Montana for hunting. He helped organize the first snowmobile club in Eau Claire County and helped to make some of the first trails in the county. He was director for AWSC for several years. For several years he helped giving snowmobile classes. He with members of the club started the first charity events for UCP.

Marvin is survived by his wife and his children, Jeff of Merrill, WI and Jilline of La Quinta, CA; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; one sister, NaDeane Fleener of Colorado and many nieces and nephews.

Hew was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Maurice, Kenneth, and Maynard, and a sister, Marjorie Forland.

Private burial services will be at a later date at Evergreen Cemetery in Manorville, MN.
