Obituary

Tootie (Ilene) Fletty, 82 of Eau Claire passed through heaven's gates on December 1st, 2025, surrounded with love and family. She was born in Eau Claire to George and Mildred (Johnson) Redman on April 11, 1943. She attended Eau Claire schools and graduated in 1961. She worked at Drummons Meat Packing for a time before starting at Uniroyal in 1962, where she worked in the tire room until 1992 when they closed. She married (her childhood nemesis) Donald Fletty on February 14, 1964. They were together for 47 years and had 3 daughters. Tootie raised her daughters to be good cooks, good bakers, and proud lefse makers. She shared her love of Norwegian baking, teaching those skills to her daughters and grandchildren. The family spent summers at Princess Resort on Cornell Lake and at Le Meres Campground later in life. Tootie loved doing things with her family and friends. Her and her sister, Mitzy were best friends and were dubbed "the Suds Sisters" because of the endless fun they had together. Tootie was a campfire leader, a neighborhood mom and even welcomed a foster daughter Cimberlee Malmquist, who still calls her "mom". She lived her life on her terms, breaking stereotypes, doing things her way and making sure she took care of everybody and every animal that crossed her path. She was referred to as fierce, fun loving and spicy. Everyone knew exactly where they stood with her, and family was her world. She is preceded in death by her parents, beloved husband, Don "Flub", daughter, Kelly, brother, Bob, sister-in-law, Marilyn, brother-in-law, Duane Siler, son-in-law, Paul Hirschfield, and great-grandson, Ian Szymanski. She leaves behind her daughters, Dawn (Bob) Szymanski and Lynn (Jerry) Gunderson, grandchildren, Jason Hirschfield, Mandi (Brigette) Mason. Joe Szymanski, Tony and Kailee Gunderson, great-grandchildren, Carson and Aiden Hirschfield and Levi Szymanski, her BFF and sister, Mitzy (Delores) Redman, brother, Don (Joyce) Redman, sister, Sis (Evelyn) Siler, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends and her canary, Petey. A gathering of family and friends will take place Saturday, December 13th, 2025 from 12:00pm to 3:00pm at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, WEST CHAPEL, 1405 N. Clairemont Ave, Eau Claire, Wisconsin 54703. Online condolences for Tootie's family may be left at www.lenmarkfh.com.
