Bill Hagmann of Altoona, passed away peacefully in Birchwood on January 5, 2026, members of his family at his side. Bill was born on July 23, 1950 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire to Arthur J. Hagmann and Pauline B. (Bauer) Hagmann. He married his high school sweetheart Carol S. Sykes on January 11, 1969 at St. Patrick Church, Eau Claire. They spent the next 57 years raising/supporting their 3 children, 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Bill was employed as a bricklayer, building inspector and locksmith, retiring in 2017. He was a friend to all and helped out anyone who asked, a true "jack-of-all-trades." He enjoyed his family, his church, fishing and hunting. He and Carol enjoyed traveling throughout the United States, visiting friends and relatives, most especially their cruise tour to Alaska - realizing a long time dream come true. He is survived by his wife, Carol; son, Chris (Clair) and daughters, Deb Hoover (Ryan) and Barb Carey. He is further survived by grandchildren, Blake (Shannon), Brody (Ali), Sara (Justin), Jordan (Gunnar), Zach, "Mack"enzie and Gavin and great-grandchildren JayLynn and Axton. He's also survived by aunts, uncles and cousins, in-laws, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and in-laws. Bill was very grateful for the wonderful care given him by Dr. Sandeep Basu and the staff in the Oncology Department at Mayo Clinic, Dr. Peter Halverson and his staff and also Jennifer Motto P.A. also at Mayo Clinic. He had wonderful care by St. Croix Hospice in Altoona and Birchwood. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 am on Friday, January 30, 2026 at St. Patrick Parish, 316 Fulton St., Eau Claire, with con-celebrants, Fr. Micheal Klos and Rev. Thomas Zurcher officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 am up until the time of Mass. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery in Eau Claire. Arrangements were entrusted to Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and Cremation Services. Online condolences may be left for Bill's family at www.lenmarkfh.com. Memorials preferred to Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, St. Patrick Parish, or Regis High School. He will be missed by all of us. Godspeed Bill, may you rest in peace.
